Botox For Hyperhidrosis – Summer Sweat Reduction

Face it. Underarm sweating is disgusting. No one wants to deal with it and, furthermore, it’s unsightly and smells unpleasant as well. But it seems to be an unavoidable byproduct of summer and the high temperatures that come with the season.

botox for hyperhidrosisIndeed, sweat happens…but you can do something to control it, especially if your sweat level is higher than most.

Sweating, of course, is a natural function of the body. It allows it to cool down when the body becomes overheated. However, there’s nothing natural about sweating at an inconvenient and unpleasant level…and many active adults dread the hot summer months because of the embarrassment of excessive sweating. Those who enjoy exercise and outdoor activities are especially affected.

Injection For Sweat Reduction

However, for many individuals who deal with excessive sweating, Botox® is the answer to a sweat-free (or sweat-reduced) summer. Topical antiperspirants don’t work for many women and men who deal with severe underarm sweating, but Botox® can conquer the problem with just one treatment, proponents note.

The makers of the drug add that users can expect up to 200 days of no sweating after that single treatment and many who have tried treatment with Botox® say that’s an accurate statement, not an exaggeration.

At present, about 20 countries have approved the use of Botox® for hyperhidrosis – the official term for excessive sweating – according to the International Hyperhidrosis Society (IHS).

The treatment is administered by a trained and licensed medical professional and includes injections into the underarm area. Success means dramatically-reduced sweating. It works for sweaty palms, too, by temporarily blocking the release of the chemical that stimulates the sweat glands.

Trials involving the use of Botox® have shown much success. A study cited by IHS on its website noted that of the 322 individuals involved in that particular trial, about 81 percent achieved what was considered a more than 50 percent reduction in sweating.

As previously mentioned, some users reported improvement that lasted up to 7 months. A few even testified to a year’s worth of reduced sweating. For those who truly suffer with this problem, that’s a phenomenal result!

Of course, ridding yourself of excessive sweating does more than just improve issues such as unsightly stains or bad odors. A summer spent sweat-free boosts your confidence and allows you to better enjoy being in the company of others.

Gone is the embarrassment associated with sweating and, in its place, you’ll develop a new love for the summer and find that you’re more comfortable in your own skin than you’ve ever been.

If you find that Botox for hyperhidrosis works, just one or two injections each year may be all you need to conquer your problem forever. Contact me for more information about this exciting and safe approach to a sweat-free summer.
